Luigi's Mansion: Princess Daisy's Quest - Chapter 30 - AlternisLiz (2024)

Chapter Text

Daisy took a deep breath. She crawled out from her hiding spot and moved slowly down the aisles, being as quiet as possible. Simon paid no attention to Daisy. He was too busy staring at his notes. Daisy began charging her strobulb.

"Curses!" Simon shouted. "I'm gonna have to watch this movie again! I can't write a proper review with these notes! They're awful!"

Simon threw the notebook on the floor. He began sulking.

"Sometimes I wish I hadn't become a movie critic. Some of the most beloved movies, such as the one I saw today, just bore me to tears. Then, when I give my honest opinion on them, I get flooded with hate mail from hardcore fans telling me how inadequate my media literacy is. Oh, this job can be so awful sometimes. If only someone could just take me away from this mansion so I could go somewhere to be carefree!"

Simon turned around and noticed the princess standing behind him; her strobulb charged. A chill ran up Daisy's spine. She gulped.

"Oh! It's a living person! Yay!" Simon exclaimed. "Listen, I don't care how you got in here, but please take me away from this gloomy mansion so I don't have to watch that lousy actor in green again. I've been having a rough time since I put my last movie review online. The feedback I've been getting has been oh-so-hateful, and I am in no mood for a fight! I'll probably have to face King Boo's wrath later when he captures you and frees me along with any other spirits, but I don't care!"

Simon reached into the seat he was sitting in and pulled out a key. He threw it to the floor next to Daisy. She picked it up.

"Please, take me away from here," Simon begged her.

"If that's what you really want, I'll honor that wish," Daisy replied.

Daisy stunned Simon with her strobulb and sucked Simon into the poltergust without a problem.

"Well, that was... interesting," Daisy said.

All that was left to do now was catch the boo hiding in the room. Daisy looked around the room. Nothing looked out of the ordinary. Everything was in its place as it was when she entered the room. She stayed quiet, and after a few seconds, Daisy heard a boo giggle. She shined her Dark Light Device to the front of the room, revealing a boo.

"The best snack to eat during a movie, Boofalo Wing!"

Daisy grabbed the boo by the tongue and slammed it to the ground. After draining its energy to zero, she sucked it into the poltergust. It was time to head to the next room, with the room now clear.

Daisy checked her Ghoul Pad. The little ghost pointed to the room where she had seen a barrier. Daisy took a deep breath and put the Ghoul Pad away. The boss of area three was in that room awaiting her arrival.

Daisy exited the movie room, closing the door behind her. She looked to the end of the hallway where the barrier was. She approached the barrier. Like the last two barriers in front of the boss doors, a light emanated from this one, causing Daisy to shield her eyes with her arm. After a few seconds, the barrier disappeared. Daisy took the key out of her pocket. What kind of chaos would this fight bring? Daisy could feel her skin crawl.

"After this, there's only one more area to explore," Daisy whispered. "Hang on just a little longer, Luigi. I'm coming!"

After taking a few moments to calm herself, Daisy unlocked the door and walked into the room. The room had a shiny white floor and walls. In the middle of the room was the minion ghost, who looked to be deep in thought. The ghost was yellow, had no human features, and had a silver tiara on its head.

"I've been in here for an hour, and I still don't know what to do with this room," The spirit said. "King Boo said I could do anything I wanted with it as a reward for helping him catch Luigi, but alas... I'm having a creative block. What to do? Hm?"

The spirit looked up to see Daisy standing before her.

"Well, well, if it isn't Princess Daisy. King Boo said that you would be coming. I thought when I would see you, King Boo would be joyfully showing off his new painting, but instead, you've made it through the mansion all by yourself. It's impressive!"

Daisy pulled out her strobulb.

"Oooh, the flashlight of doom! How very scary!"

The spirit knocked the flashlight from Daisy's hand to the floor.

"Oh no!" Daisy exclaimed. "I hope it's not broken!"

The ghost laughed at her as Daisy picked up the flashlight and examined it for damage.

"Man, you and Luigi are so funny. You think you can easily defeat King Boo and save the day along with any of your friends that he captured. I'm not sure how Luigi managed to avoid capture for so long, but his shenanigans finally ended. Now we have a princess who's naive enough to think she can save King Boo's arch-enemy. Did you not learn after being captured last time that King Boo always gets what he wants? You're probably no match for him."

Daisy glared at the ghost and once again began charging her strobulb.

"Heh, if that's how you want it, then fine. I, Etie, will take you down myself and save King Boo the trouble of fighting you!"

Etie raised her hands—spheres of purple energy formed in her hands, causing the room to spin. Daisy shut her eyes before she could become too dizzy. When she opened them, the walls were gone. What replaced them was an orange and yellow barrier. Etie remained in the middle of the room laughing.

"I'm not sure how you got past Rowan and Alfred, but I won't make the same mistakes they did. Prepare to meet your doom, Princess Daisy!"
